What We Do
We are a global movement of people who fight inequality to end poverty and injustice.
About Oxfam
Oxfam is a global movement of people who fight inequality to end poverty and injustice. We’re committed to ending poverty in the long-term, as well as addressing its devastating impacts right now. Together, we improve and save the lives of those hardest hit by poverty and injustice and campaign for a fairer, more sustainable world.
Oxfam Ireland
Oxfam Ireland is one of 21 Oxfams working together in 79 countries around the world. People living in poverty are hardest hit by conflict, disaster, hunger, sickness and the climate crisis.
The root cause of poverty is inequality - but it doesn’t have to be this way. We speak out against the inequalities that keep people poor, including unfair tax rules, the unequal distribution of wealth, discrimination against women and girls and how the worst impacts of the climate crisis are felt by the people least responsible for causing it. We ensure that the voices of people hardest hit by poverty and injustice are heard.
We help people build better lives for themselves and, when disaster strikes, we are there to save lives and help rebuild communities.
At Oxfam Ireland, our four priority goals mean that we stand for a just economy, gender justice, climate justice and accountable governance. We couldn’t do any of this without our supporters.
